## Job Overview A Block Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and finishing structures using concrete blocks, bricks, and related masonry materials. The role requires precision, physical strength, and a strong understanding of construction drawings and safety procedures. In Saudi Arabia, Block Masons play a critical role in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects, ensuring durability, accuracy, and compliance with local building standards. --- ## Key Responsibilities - Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications - Measure, mark, and prepare work areas according to layout plans - Mix mortar, cement, and other bonding materials in correct proportions - Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stones in straight lines, levels, and angles - Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and bonding of blocks - Cut blocks to required sizes using hand or power tools - Apply finishing techniques such as pointing, plastering, or smoothing surfaces - Repair or replace damaged masonry structures when required - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite - Follow all safety regulations, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) - Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers - Ensure work quality meets project standards and deadlines - Perform tasks efficiently in outdoor and high-temperature environments --- ## Skills & Competencies - Strong knowledge of block masonry techniques and tools - Ability to read and understand technical drawings - Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail - Physical strength and stamina for manual labor - Basic understanding of construction safety practices - Ability to work independently or as part of a team - Time management and task prioritization skills --- ## Qualifications & Experience - Proven experience as a Block Mason in construction projects - Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings preferred - Knowledge of Saudi construction practices is an advantage - Ability to work long hours, including overtime when required - Technical training or vocational certification is a plus --- ## Working Conditions - Outdoor construction sites across Saudi Arabia - Exposure to heat, dust, and physical labor - Standing, bending, lifting, and climbing required - Accommodation, transportation, and other benefits may be provided by the employer (as per company policy) --- ## Importance of the Role Block Masons are essential to the success of construction projects. Their craftsmanship directly impacts the strength, safety, and appearance of buildings. In Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing construction sector, skilled Block Masons contribute significantly to national infrastructure development and high-quality construction standards. --- ## Terms & Conditions 1. Above rate is based on 10 hours/day, 6 days/week, and 26 days/month (total hours / 6 months). Any extra hours and Friday work shall be calculated according to Saudi Labour Law. 2. Work stopped due to idle hours such as rain, windy conditions, or sandstorms will be considered as working hours. 3. Demobilization must be informed 5 days in advance; otherwise, late responses will be charged as idle periods by Alwurud Alsafraah Company. 4. Quotation validity is 5 days from the date of offer. 5. Mobilization will be completed within 3 days after confirmation of the official purchase order. 6. Food, accommodation, and transportation are the responsibility of the receiving party. 7. Timesheets must be provided at the end of every month. 8. 15% VAT will be added to the above prices. An e-invoice will be generated including 15% VAT. 9. Gate pass and related expenses are not included in the scope. 10. According to Saudi law, during Ramadan, reduced working hours will still be considered a full working day. 11. Payment will be made within 5 days of invoice submission.
